A fickle heart, the only thing I've brought
A poem, the only words I've sought
Patience longing like your kiss I never got
Throw my soul into the river to cleanse the demons I've unlocked
Like salt on my skin, remorse with no end doesn't wash away so easily
Blow a thousand kisses only not to receive one back
The chip you've got on your shoulder is the only thing I lack
You’ve taught me a lesson to which my mind can't retract
And left me with a mark they can't see and I can't bury
Why is everything I want so precarious?
And everyday left is just like fire burns
Burnt ends of my mind over a soul of my ash
Not strong like a Phoenix, to come up from love's combustion
And if I were to choose, I'd still want you
I'd rather feel this way, then not to feel any way at allA poem, the only words I've sought
